Re: Angle of insertable rod holder for yak?????
The rod holders at Academy all are 30 degree as well. The flush mount angle won't change how it is installed to your kayak - it is the angle the rod will be at when in the holder. Hope that makes sense, I'm not the best at putting things into words.

Re: tongue extensions.
I have the boat trailer - so I didn't need an extension since both my yaks are only 12'. If you check out the "Post your Trailer" topic, there are a TON of amazing utility trailer conversions. A lot of them don't even look like Harbor Freight trailers. I am not that talented, so I have the...

Re: Safety Flag and Vibe Sea Ghost Question
Just a note. The safety flag will not guarantee that you will be seen. The person driving the boat has to be looking forward to see you. I almost got hit by a boat because the guy driving was trying to rig a rod and drive at the same time. I ended up leaving my anchor and paddling out of his way. I...

Re: Safety Flag and Vibe Sea Ghost Question
Well, I ended up getting a safety flag made for Jetskis/other recreational crafts from West Marine here in Lewisville. They have the foam type piece, almost like a pool noodle, at the bottom and it slides right into my rod holders on the milk crate. Went by Academy and they have a $20 strobe/LED 360...

Re: Help with this trailer
I bought a 600lb boat trailer - not near the quality of this, but I highly recommend a trailer. There are a lot of customization ideas on here for kayaks - especially if you have access to weld. I did mine with no weld, I ran cross beams from the side arms of the frame and mounted Malone J-Carriers ...

Safety Flag and Vibe Sea Ghost Question
So this is sort of a two part - I didn't want to spam with multiple topics. First, I was wondering what you guys are rigging for safety flags? Bicycle flags? I saw a video of a dude getting bumped by a Jon Boat and it scared the daylights out of me - so I'm trying to cater my rigging to higher visib...

Can I jump-start a 12v fish finder battery?
New to kayaking all around - have my fish finder set up; however, the 12v battery is completely dead, and the charger I have won't charge a battery with less than 3v. Is there any way to jump this battery?

Re: Post your trailer!!!!
It's going to be a work in progress. I am setting it up to carry two kayaks vs. carrying one on trailer, and one on the roof. Regardless of kayak I find the roof rack to be a pain - so I just installed these 2x4 cross bars and I am mounting the Malone J carriers onto it. I got lucky and got this Har...

Re: Today's the day
Nice! The old ball and chain and I are going to be taking our first trip here very soon - just picked her kayak up last night, and mine was only the night before. Quick question, not to hijack this thread, but how are you transporting the both of them? I managed to get one of the Harbor Freight Boat...
