Re: Winter Trout Question

One thing that’s great about fishing is the challenge of finding and catching fish - never gets old - always something to learn. See ya!

Something like this Tombo. The GPS Store usually has good prices and quick delivery.

Re: Bait caster handle side

I am right handed so throw and retrieve bait casters with my right hand. Most Right handed people do this. And like others above, I cast spinning reels with my right hand and retrieve with my left.

Re: So, Speaking of the San Bernard . . .

It was a beautiful day on the water. Ken landed 4 flounder and I managed to net 2 nice specs. The fish were there but you had to hunt them. 18 Inch Specs.jpg Over the course of the next two hours I managed to miss 5 more specs. Could not figure out what I was doing wrong - at least 'till I got home....

Re: Tiki Torch –

It was a fun night of fishing. And although we caught plenty of fish, my favorite was landing a fat 26" red on light tackle (Lew's Mach Crush 200 spinning reel coupled with a medium light action rod). Took about 5 minutes to land the thing. It would take line and I would get it back. Even had i...

Re: Location Selected, Fish Caught!

So the reef turned out to be productive. And like Ken said, it has been passed over on many occasions. Kind of a yin and yang thing though. We found the reef. Ken found the fish. And I caught nothing! That’s what good friends are for! It was a great day on the water and next time will be mine - I ho...

Re: trout Support DVD's

The DVD's are great so you can't go wrong with any or all of these. Another option from TroutSupport - Tobin has a members only section - It is full of very useful information that will help you hone your fishing skills - Basically you pay an annual fee and have access to a ton of information. Re: Fishing line

I use 15 lb Power Pro. Have used mono (almost exclusively) in the past and have even tried all flouro but end up going back to braid because of the way it works (better casting & sensitivity). Generally speaking my braid gets changed out about every 2 years and I reverse it. I have a habit of in...
