Re: We need to get this chapter going again

I swing by from time to time when I think about it, but with months between posts, it's hard. Kids, work, etc tend to get in the way and I rarely get to fish anymore, much less out of the kayak! When my boys get a little older, maybe they'll be interested. Good to hear from you though! Maybe we can ...

Re: Got my first COVID Vaccine shot today!

Good luck, sounds like the vast majority don't have any adverse reactions. Like the flu vaccine, I won't be taking it. I've had the flu 4 or 5 times in my life (that I know of and was confirmed with tests) and I'll take it over a common cold any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Same thing with C...

Boudain and link sale, raffle, etc

If anyone is in the Vidor area today 12/9 from 10-??, swing by market basket and grab some good food. This is benefiting a friend and coworker who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Tins of good stuff in the raffle. Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your governmen...

Just an FYI, they have been having issues with their site and the maps on there can be as much as 72 hrs old. Over the past 2 days, Ive driven numerous routes the map says are closed and had to turn around several times when the map says they are open. DO NOT chance running out of fuel or getting st...

A lot of rain but no flooding in our neighborhood. Kirk B. I made it home today by going through bridge city to 62 and up to evadale. ...

Paddle to the back of that marsh and fish the marsh drains. Watch for tails. The bayou that runs under the bridge at the far end of the road circles around and begins in the back of the first big marsh on the left. We've done some good on reds and flounder back there, but that was probably 8 or 9 ye...

Went on a float trip on village creek with John from Coastal paddler when I first got I to kayaking 11 years ago. Nothing to worry about. they just submerge and move on. they might get slightly more aggressive in the spring mating/nesting season, but other than that, they just submerge and swim away. you have a much higher chance of having issues with critters of the two legged variety or bacteria/viruses. Re: New trailing along bait bucket idea

At 4.5" in diameter and only 21" long, you aren't keeping much bait in that thing for very long. I'm guessing 12 mud minnows/finger mullet would be a pretty tight fit and shrimp/shad are really not going to last. Great idea, but just not big enough. Make it bigger and you just increase dra...
