Re: Perception Pescador Pilot
Wish they would just offer the Kayak without the peddle drive. No way I can use a peddle drive here and the Kayak has a nice weight capacity and look to it.

Re: Comfortable Seat Cushion
Dont know about you guys but I have given up on seat cushions. I even have the top of the line seat from feelfree in my moken 12.5 and by butt still hurts after about 30 minutes. I have tried every cushion i could find but still if you dont have a lounge chair type seat it is pretty useless trying t...

Re: Looking at some diffferent rigs, need input
I have a moken 12.5 and I have run many rivers/creeks here that have a lot of Indian shoals, rocks and even class 2 water my moken has held up wonderfully. Only thing about the moken 12.5 is it doesnt have a lounge chair type seat. I wish they would make that happen it would be a perfect kayak then....

Re: New to Texas and Kayaking. Kayak recommendation
DOnt go the tandem route! You can easily get her a cheap 10ft and trust me it will be 1000 times better and quiter then having her in the same yak with you. The jackson coosa hd would be a good choice. If you want cheaper the ocean kayak big game 2 or the trident 13. I would go with at least a 400# ...

Re: Cabela's reels and rods??
Went back by Cabelas today. Run into the same sales guy. Well he was wrong about the sales. But he did me right he honored the last sale prices that ended Wednesday and even offered to sale me things at the discount cabelas give their employees. So I got a Cabela's Salt Striker® Bait-feeder Spinning...

Cabela's reels and rods??
Looking to re-equip myself and my 12yr old with a couple new spinning reels and rods.. I have 2 academy Mettle bait-casters and ethos rods which I am very pleased with so no need for bait-casters. How are cabela's brand spinning reels and rods? Recommendations? One thing I like and I confirmed today...

Re: Coosa HD
Give the Coosa HD a try. Suppose to be the best river kayak around. But they are way over priced though and never go on sale. That is my only complaint about the Jackson line you are paying a premium price just for the name. Ill probably end up forking over the doe for one eventually.LOL

Re: Field and stream shadow caster
No experience per say. But I was in dicks couple weeks ago and a guy was exchanging one. He drug it on the boat ramp and it put a hole in the rear hull area. Dicks was exchanging it. Thought that was pretty good of them considering he had it in the water already. So the reviews you read may be spot ...

Re: Help me rig out my Ride.
Nothing wrong with changing the bungee. I have the lowarance 4x FF run me $99 and works great and has the color screen. They have a new one called the 3xhook or something if you look around you can score it for $99. As far as lights hands down the yak attack visi pole its the one I used. And remembe...

Re: Looking for a new yak..
I dont have any personal experience with the three you mentioned. But I have been able to look at all the Jackson kayaks. ANd they all rock!!! If it was me I think I do the Jackson crusie 12ft. About the same spec as the cuda plus the same seat I think, but cheaper give u more money to add extras. I...

Re: Newbie Here
If you have the funds a jackson coosa HD or the Jackson Big Rig both around $1750. The ocean kayak Big game 2 around $1300. The ride 135 would be a good one. As far as Kayaks under $1000 might try the new pelican catch 120, feelfree moken 12.5, or the new field stream shadow caster. There is a sorta...

Re: Pelican Catch 120
The weight shouldnt be a problem. I have looked at the catch 120. It is thicker then the other pelican line of kayaks, looks solid. I really like it and that lava color is really growing on me. Let us know how it works out. Just a few reviews online and they all seem to be by pelican.

Re: Kayak Fishing Crates (are they necessary)
When, I first started out I did just about every DIY there was. Truth is most of them didnt save me any money and basically wasnt needed. But it was fun. The crate was a must have, I thought since everyone seemed to have one. I used it twice before I figured out that I didnt need to take everything ...

Re: Kayak question
Look around better deals then the pompano. If your doing BTB you need a bigger yak. ALso the pompano doesnt have a seat and you may find it difficult to find one to fit. It is the same Yak as the Pescador which is sold at all the box stores and can be had on sale much cheaper and with a seat. Look a...

Re: Lifetime Tamarack 120" Angler Kayak
Not a bad kayak but more for women and kids in my opinion. My 11yr old started on a lifetime 8ft yak served her well. If Im not mistaken the weight limit is 250# you come in under that barely if you take off 25% weight for max handling. Maybe some else can explain this. Basically you dont want to lo...

Re: looking to buy my first kayak
Yes it will do but it is a little old. If it is in good condition go for it if the price is right. There is alot of new models this year so check around you maybe able to buy a new yak that suits your needs for about the same price as a used high dollar model. I was in academy today and they had the...

Re: WS Ride 115
The differences in the ride's is the seat and the front console. The cheaper one is the old style seat and a normal console. The x model has the removable front console and it has the scrubber for the transducer mount. So what ever your budget allows. I would highly recommend the newer seat model da...

Thanks for the update congrads on the new yak and the $100 bonus. My dad is around 200# so he should have a dry ride hopefully. My local academy had no redfish in stock. No one in the store who knew how to or wanted to order one for me.

Thanks Ill look into the hat option. Read through the manuals but im dead in the water till my sd card gets here. you think for the price we pay for these things that they would include at least a 32g sd card.
