Re: Hog or Deer hunt
There are few outfitters north of Houston as well. Not sure if they advertise in the paper or not.

If you do put a trolling motor on a kayak. Your supposed to get it registered and have TX numbers on it then just the same as if it was a PB.

Re: GoPro Mounting Options
I have mine mounted in front, home made with pvc. Just screwed a mount to a T on some 1/2" pvc. No Need for some expensive pole or mounts. In front view can be turned to catch other angles. However it is limited. You either get yourself or the water. If you have 2 cameras and do a couple mounte...

Success with a friend 10-29-14 marsh
Well I went out today with a buddy. Coastie We didn't have but 5 hours to explore unknown area of marsh and try to land some fish. I call this a success because, I landed my first flounder in 10 inches of water with a kayak. Spooked 7 and missed a few hits. Seen a red coast by my yak and didn't get ...

Re: Recording while fishing
Is there a camera with a battery life of about 6-8hrs? When I fish, I'm pretty lazy to turn the camera on and off. Plus, Id rather fish than switch batteries in and out. Is there a camera with a battery life of 6-8hrs of continuous recording? I currently have a go pro hero 2. Never use it bc of bat...

That was a great idea to not go alone. Or your gear and yak may not be where you left it. If you had to leave it to get your truck.

Re: Bait Camps Open This Time of Year near Galveston
Aunt Margie's on 61st Street had live shrimp a week ago, but give em a ring first (409) 737-2477 There are a few bait shops on 61st street between 45 and the Seawall. Smitty's usually has them too on the 45 feeder. Look for the white flags so you don't have to waste your time stopping and asking. N...

When I was there, same day as Coastie. People got stuck and broke paddles. And was just muddy with muddy yaks.

Re: I'm starting to blame my Yak
The way I see it, I can either go wading, with only a small amount of equipment, along side lots of other people, and not cover much water. OR I can take my kayak, carry lots of gear, cover lots of water, and not have that many folks around (I love the solitude and tranquility) Or you can paddle ou...

Just watched a video about this. All you need to do is make sure your fish is on a good bed of ice. And covered. Fish decay fast and the ice will slow the process down.

Just deleted the "latch manually closed" post. I was able to get it open in the simplest of ways. After trying the remote, the front door release....I failed to try the simple manual small handle/bar that is part of the big hatch..... that I use to open it every day. Duhhhh!!!!!! I tried ...

10-17 Report
Went out this morning to a spot east of the Fred Hartman bridge. Fished some rocks and landed a few fish. All was to small to keep. But it was rewarding to fish up my kayak a bit. Fished sun up till about 11:00am. Water was smooth and 72 degrees. Very little wind. Murky greenish color. Catch: All on...

Aluminum will eat up just the same if not faster. Build a new one or buy another one like you had. Then corrosion X the crap out of it.

Re: Where to get running lights and pole light?
Haha.. That's not an option. Seriously though isn't there a keel guard of some kind? Preferably a metal one I have seen those on boats. Not sure if they would work on a yak or not. Only other thing is pay attention and don't run aground or drag it over them if at all possible. Scratches are going t...
