Fish Bag Recommendations

I’m looking at fish bags instead of dragging fish on a stringer. Any recommendations y’all may have? Thanks!

Re: Stake out stick

my buddy found a wrapped- handle/fiberglass-shaft/metal-tip gate hook at a tack shop, for $10 or so - made for lifting gate latches from horseback. He cut the hook and sharpened the tip for his stake-out pole - he's been using it over 10 years. https://i.imgur.com/e5c35Qv.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jM...

Stake out stick

I know this topic has been brought up plenty of times. I’m wanting to build a couple stake out sticks with fiberglass rods, but I’m having trouble finding them. Looked at Home Depot and Lowe’s and they no longer carry them. Any idea on where to get them? Thanks

Re: What are your fishing goals for 2019??

I am now on a shift schedule where I have more time to be on the water. I really want to focus on learning more about the areas I fish, and of course I want to fish more!

Re: Caloma Creek?

Thanks guys. I hate to be asking but but the reason I asked is the last time I went that way the bridge was under construction, so I wasn't sure if there was still a place to launch. I'll give it a try and post a report. Thank y'all

Caloma Creek?

Has anyone ever fished the Caloma Creek side of Powderhorn? Was thinking about giving it a try, just wanted some input first. Thanks

Re: Flounder gigging

I built my lights from pvc and an oznium led light. Runs about 5 hours off of a 12 volt deer feeder battery. I've had the itch myself lately to go, but the tides have been funky this week. Hopefully on my next hitch off everything will have settled down so I can get a trip in this month. Sent from m...

Re: Ray Guards?

I wear reef boots with the ray guard shields separate, so I can wear them when needed. I never was to serious about it until my uncle was hit in the calf while fishing in POC. He drove himself to the hospital in Victoria, where they removed the barb and stitched him up. Fought infections for a coupl...

As most have said it's tough to beat a speck rig, but I've also had good luck chunking dark colored mirrodines in the lights as well.

Re: Lighthouse Lakes Paddling Trails

Thank you all for your advice. My Wife and I made the trip to AP yesterday, and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Winds were light and temps were mild. I typically fish the marshes of Calhoun County, so I was amazed at the water clarity. Even spooked a couple of reds. We're already planning o...

I typically fish a lot of marsh, and every time I pass LHL I always want to go take my wife to just paddle. She's kayaked with me on the Guadalupe before but never on the bay. Any advice for two newbies paddling Light House Lakes? Not worried about fishing just a little sight seeing. Sent from my i...

Re: Saltwater Spinning Reels

I don't use spinning gear much anymore, and call some may call me crazy but I've had great luck with Shimano Siennas. Last year we took a buddy who had never been saltwater fishing out with us so I leant him my spinning set up. I can't tell you how many times it got dunked that day. He was so excite...

Mustang Island SP

I know the Park is still closed from Harvey, but I'm hoping to make a trip once the park opens. I'm mostly interested in the paddle trails. Has anyone ever paddled them or stayed in the park?
