If you plan on mother shipping go simple. As said by Tombo, the ataks are heavy. Paddle ok for a wider yak. With a brisk breeze, not so sure.

Here it is 2 months ago. The beginning of the run you have to haul butt. Road gets pretty rough after the bend. deep ruts.

The "perfect" kayak is the one that you can use anytime anywhere with as little effort and gear as possible. A big screen portable TV is always an added benefit in my yak.

Casting accuracy is a must and make sure you have a good tide or you will be paddling through some serious grass mat. The land adjacent to the bend is l...

Re: Paddle vs Mirage Drive

Being on the water is all that matters to me. I think it comes down to where you fish and budget. I have fished out of a couple Hobies and I like them. In deeper water and bass fishing especially. Deeper Salt to me is 18" at high tide for what it is worth. You will find me side saddle crab walk...

Re: Powderhorn area question

I like putting by the bridge. Paddle out and run either L or R shoreline. Paddle till you hear or see them crashing. Should be tailers early and flounder in the guts and cuts. Gulps on a 16th or weedless screw lock. Topwaters work well to. That entry provides shelter from the wind. Couple VERY large...
