Well my boxes are packed and I pull out of Texas in a few short weeks for a move to Naples, FL. I wanted to check in and say Thank You to all of you on TKF for all the good reads, amazing friends that I have met through TKF and had the pleasure to fish with. At least you guys were driving in style. I saw you guys at the gas station this morning and the only one who exited the vehicle was the honey bun eater.

Re: Upper Nueces Bay access
I agree 100% with everyones advice on the nb back mud. Good advice. I will add, keep moving and looking for fish. Blind casting back there is a big waste of time, with the small exception of directly under the railroad trussel when the tide is pushing in or out. Everywhere else, keep paddling until ...

Re: Coastal User Conflict Workgroup report... a must read 2012
Sure the stickers could be removed but the theif would have to put legit stickers back on it. Just like registering an untitled outboard, you need photograph or etching of serial numbers. No legit serial number = no registration. No different then registering a trailer. Ever tried to obtain a title ...

Re: Coastal User Conflict Workgroup report... a must read 2012
Sure. Everybody send a letter to voice your dislike of the kayak registration. If all 26,000 members send a letter, the state will see they are missing out on 1.3 million dollars. Thats at $50 a yack. Most of us have more than one and there is a heck of a lot more kayakers in Texas then are on this ...

Re: Redneck DIY trollin' motor mount
I took the DIY mount for its first test run. Ran into the problem that the motor wanted to spin on the pvc pipe that it attaches to. Using a sander and slivers of pvc i was able to build up and square off the pipe where the motor attaches. Ready for test run number two. This should solve the problem...

F150, here is a pic of the on/off switch mounted to the milkcrate. I just recycled it off of the trolling motor head and rewired it.

Redneck DIY trollin' motor mount
I came across a freebie trolling motor, so i decided to make a handsfree mount for it that was somewhat "portable" that did not require drilling my yak. I wanted to be able to drop it on, plug in and play. I also wanted to still have use of my rudder for stearing. The entire thing is made ...

Re: Rincon Channel
The area of flats along the Rincon channel have never been productive for me. The tides usually run a bit too low there for fish to really set up there. However, there is a small (40ft) shell reef that seperates that flat from the channel which tends to hold trout on its channel side. Also, there ar...

IFA typo or mistake?
So how big was John's winning redfish? IFA just posted the results and have the 1st place winning stringer as Redfish 19.75 and Trout as 25.25 for total of 45". Was this a typo? If not, that redfish does not meet the slot limit and should not have counted per the IFA rules " Fish must be a...
