Re: Finally, decent Redfish on the fly
I fly fished a couple of times in the salt with nothing to show. I am new at this and hope to catch something someday. I can feel your excitement of your first red on the fly. If you fish Galveston /Christmas bay area let me know . Hard to find guys who like to fly fish.

Re: Anyone have any luck with the YUM Money Minnows?
They definitely work at night , have not tried during the day yet . If you see them on clearance buy them . Don't seem to last as long as I would like , the reds and trouts tear them up pretty good .

Re: Monday, 1/30/17 - Slow Day Confederate Reef and Marsh Gone!
I fished the reefs to the east of south deer island and got no bites on Monday . Saw few mullet jumping . Where did the fish go . I did find some 7-8 foot deep holes but nothing as far as bites . Wonder if the fish are getting smarter since that area receives lot of fishing pressure.

Re: Viking profish reload leaking
You can fill your kayak with 50 to 70 percent water and see if any water is leaking from inside out. . If no leaks upright then flip it upside down, after you close the hatches and see where the leak is coming from. Wherever water goes in , then it will come out from the same places as well . Hope t...

If you fish pierce have you tried gulp Or dead shrimp on a popping cork ? Look on google and find the reefs . Drum bay has lot of oyster beds . Take some dead shrimp on a circle hook on a popping cork and pop the crap out of it and don't move for Atleast 10 to 15 min each place , near the oyster bed...

Re: Wed or Thurs 22nd/23rd Anywhere on Bolivar
not a lot of good reports from high island lately (mc faddin area ), but if you chunk cut horse mullet from mcfaddin area you might get some bull red action if you stay in the muddy water . start out just past the breakers in about 6 to 8 feet depending on tide and then work your way out from there....

Was a fun day with manny. Bite was slow when we started around 11 am . I managed to get a underslot slam . I guess practice for the overslot slam some other time . we saw a line of clouds and decided to head back in the afternoon . bite picked up as we were heading back but so did the winds, and the...

Re: need an update!!
Reds hang out where the bait is. I wonder if the shrimp boats are actually reducing the number of shrimp in the area . Hence the reds have to move around more to get food. So as a result the numbers of reds caught last year and looks like this year seems a lot less than the years before. Another the...

I have also lost fish from a stringer. I caught a 27 inch red and put it on the stringer that I had received as a birthday gift. This was the type of stringer where I could clip six to seven fish on several different clips on the same stringer . I was anchored in about two to three feet of water . T...

Re: Matti rigs April 23
Well this was my first trip to matti . If manny wasn't going with me I would have fished the bays . I used a yozuri lure and a ribbonfish . Got a hit on the ribbonfish but mystery fish got off. no more than 30 second fight . Water was muddy all the way out , we never saw clear blue/green water so wh...
