Stubblefield bridge launching?

Has anyone tried the new Stubblefield Lake bridge launch ramp? How is the clearance under the bridge? We are eager to get back to work on the 5 mile paddling trail project.

Great report! Even with the setbacks, you didn’t give up. Maybe you could try an East Texas trip like that. I would certainly participate in that!

Pat, it’s good to hear from you. Glad y’all are doing well, too. I love the area you are in now, too. It was a favorite destination for some of the tournaments we used to fish. Keep in touch.

I need a Stubblefield Lake bridge update

Has anyone been to the bridge lately to see what has been done in the way of ‘repairs’?

I think it’s a ‘no brained’ for the next few seasons. At least until the population rebounds.

Re: Is there a pulse in here?

Ocktyght, This is a good time to get active again. Since you left, a couple of “pay to play” clubs have sprang up and taken some of our members with them. Also, the TKF Facebook page has exploded. Take your pick but this is still the best place to find specific info. Feel free to PM me for local inf...

Re: First time to Port Isabel

My advice this time of year is to stick to the ship challenge. Snook is my favorite target there. Fish along the points, rocks and salvage ships...anything that will hold heat. Try to determine what they are eating an match it as close as possible. Take plenty of baits because the snook and big Jack...

Re: A Quick History of Kayak Manufacturers and Mergers

Yes, we have seen a lot of changes over the years; mostly positive, too. TKF came on the scene in 1999 and we experienced a lot of them as we grew through the 2000’s. Here we are entering the 2020’s and I’m proud to say it’s been quite a ride. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Neumie!

Re: Garmin Panoptics Live Scope

Remember when fishing was a great, cheap hobby? Still can be. I took two of my kids to the Galveston Fishing Pier the other day. $6 per kid (I have a season pass $240/yr), $5 for a box of frozen squid for my daughter, a couple of packs of speck rigs and a sabiki rig for my son, and hours of enterta...

To get the right map, be sure you get the Hook N Line map for that area with the TKF Logo on the front.
A lot of very experienced kayak fishermen have contributed to making it relavent.

Earl, I used to deer hunt and fish Mtn. Fork around OLD Hochatown before the Lake was built. My fondest childhood memories were made there. There is still a can opener nailed to a tree somewhere in about 70ft of water that I left there deer hunting. Thanks for reviving those memories!
