Re: #whereareyourfeet overnighter for On The Guad

Hirsch, Hog Island trip. Closer to the date, I’ll post up a map. LETS TALK ABOUT FOOD!!! I’ll bring the obligatory cold Whataburger.... Need Red Solo Cups and some Star Crunches. Most likely I’ll be cooking beef fajitas on the jet boil. Maybe Chuck can bring some of his awesome beef jerky/sticks. Se...

Re: Canyon lake fishing, memorial day weekend?

I’d HIGHLY recommend staying off a major lake during a holiday weekend. Hit up a river like the Guadalupe (the non toober portions) or San Marcos.
As far as what’s biting? I’d throw a Texas rig worm with a 1/8 oz bullet weight.

Whites are most likely done.

Re: Question on flow of Colorado river near Webberville

I'll second that the island by the Hyatt will be under water at 4000cfs. Camped there over New Years and there was little to no wood for a fire. Paddling around the islands just down from big web stay to the left. It's shallow and the current picks up. Good luck on the trip and post a report! Sent f...

Had the opportunity to squeeze in a little river time on the San Marcos yesterday evening. Landed three small lmb's with my new gear. Paddled out under the stars. Great way to end a Saturday.

Re: advice on the San Marcos around Luling

All I've read about is the paddling trail in Luling. I know of a few that do well with the whiskered kitties that way. My next adventure needs to be from Fentress to Luling. It's a long haul, need to get it in the books to complete my well overdue goal of paddling the whole river. Sent from my iPhon...

Well done on the fish! I went over the bridge around 8:30 and it was low!! Noticed sandbars I've never seen before.
How's the parking?

Re: Depth finder set up

I like the Nocqua for the fish finder only but understand if running other stuff it's not big enough. It's definitely overpriced, too bad it's not more reasonably priced and they don't make one a little larger. What ray marine do you have? I have a uninstalled dragonfly 4 pro that I'm thinking abou...

Re: question for those who use a dog leash for anchor

Pull about 7' of the cord out. Then place the retractor part in the handle and run the line through the eyelets (already on the yak, designed specifically for this use on a Jackson coosa). Then tie the chain (18" or so) at the end. The leash won't pull the chain out, I have to "help" ...
