Re: Upper Mountain Fork
Yes, there are put ins above the narrows. First one is about 12 miles above called Beachton Road. There is a low water bridge there where the road crosses but limited parking. As for rapids and water levels. I recommend nothing lower than ~200 cfs with upper being 2k cfs. There are several drop offs...

Re: Teaching my son the ways of the flats
Thanks for the great write up. Way to go on pushing your son to not get deterred and now he is motivated for more. He will now learn faster and continue to sharpen the skills of learning to watch, listen and immerse himself in his surroundings. Fishing or hunting you can have the best equipment but ...

Re: Well, This Changes My Plans
I was tinkering in my garage, smoking a cigar and listening to NWS weather on my VHF last evening. I heard about those seas and thought about reporting them here - glad you made the point. Oh yea, smoking a cigar and sipping bourbon. I have some reels needing my attention. Any guesses where I will ...

Well, This Changes My Plans
I usually get to make about 5 trips to the coast and offshore per year but not this year. This year has had its share of strange patterns. Early season we had the rain and pressure gradients which kept the TX coast with muddy river water and big surf. Then there was some windows around July 4 but I ...

Re: The River Goes On Forever And The Paddling Never Ends (Brazos River Trip Report)
Thanks, I have been busy in the white water scene up in Arkansas this spring. I leave for a 6 day, 125 mile flat water paddle down the lower Green River in Utah, later this month. It starts just south of I70 and then down to the confluence with the Colorado river, it passes through Canyon Lands NP. ...

All good, back in Plano. Pretty nice but hard trip. Yes, 50+ miles most days with one at 65. Trip report coming as soon as I can type better, got some serious paddle grip fatigue.

It was hard to tell from the video on water color but it looked decent. Could you see blue water further out? I should be there tomorrow night and fish Friday and Saturday. Also, how was the beach driving? I was down there just before the TS went in at Corpus and the sand was the worst I have seen i...

Have a fun, safe, productive trip. Post up on water color and action. I would not expect any issues using either launch with this forecast.
Looks like I am headed to Matagorda Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday.

Great video Killerbee, now my blood is running to get out. How recent was the tarpon hook and land at the Matty rig and was it on a ribbon fish. Re: BTB Break for a river trip??
Thanks for the nice video and posting your trip. It is a nice time of year to be on that section of the Brazos. It looks like they were releasing a decent amount of water so you did not have to drag boats. Were there many others doing overnight while you there?
