Re: Props to Power Pole!
I wouldn't mind doing that when I get the time. In the middle of a move and working away from home during the week currently... I never go above the lowest setting on mine. Any more then that and it tends to lift the back of the kayak just a bit on a hard bottom. The lowest setting is perfect for mo...

I love my micro. Built very well too. Lost mine in the river one day (operator error!) and it was submerged in 5 foot of water for the hour or so it took me to find it. Still works without an issue!

Have you considered taking any classes to improve your paddling technique? Im not sure if there are any ACA instructors in your area but it would sure be worth looking into. Its amazing how much better a boat will paddle with the proper paddling technique!

You are talking about keeping your rods in the rod holders while hauling your kayak down the road on your trailer? Don't do that.....not if you care anything about your rods anyhow.

Re: St croix or falcon for inshore fishing
I have several St Croix Avid series rods I use bass fishing. I cant imagine them making a bad rod. Have some Tide Masters on order now...
I do have a couple of Falcon XG Coastal rods as well and have nothing negative to say about them. Great rod for under $100.

Maybe for one of those pack it in, pack it out trips like the Devils River. Some things that you have to pack out, you just don't want to keep that close to you!

You can stay cooler if you have a way to set up a hammock. That will keep you elevated off the ground so that you get more of a breeze.
