I am trying to plan a weekend trip with some friends. The goal is to rent a house with a lighted pier, easy access/paddle to the marsh from the house, and 4-6hr drive from Houston.
Any recommendations?

Re: Cow Trap 1/15
Headed out to cow trap despite the wind to try out the new Gheenoe. She performed like a champ. The water is choco chunky milk from the San Bernard and west...for those thinking of giving it a go this weekend, you might ask around to find some clearer water. I'd guess south, where the grass grows.....

Re: Aid to See Trailer Position While Towing
I use driveway reflectors poles from homedepot. $2 each. I just jam them into my side bunk carpet. Thanks for the information and pictures as those reflectors would appear to work. Do you keep them on the trailer while driving or put them on while loading/unloading? I will stop by Home Depot and ch...

Re: Storing Spec Rigs
Wrapped up in a impossible knotted bird's nest and tangled up with my other tackle, lying loose in the bottom of my kayak. That way I can always find it. Anyone who says they haven't been there probably isn't being honest with themselves. I know I have. Had this happened to me way too many times. T...

Re: Keith lake
Thank you Mulletmaster.
I've never fished Keith lake before. I've always wanted to try it out on my solo skiff.

I was not able to lift my solo skiff with 6hp outboard and external gas tank onto the bed extender of my truck. I'm currently in the market for a trailer.

Re: ROTOMOLDED SOLOSKIFF
I picked up a used tohatsu. It started up with 1-2 pulls each time on a cold start. I have to leave it on full choke for about 30secs to a minute. Then i pust the choke in and its ready to run.

Re: ROTOMOLDED SOLOSKIFF
I've been using the MSR 30oz fuel bottles for about 2 years and they work great. They slide into the hatch connected to a lanyard in series towards the back of the boat. Also attached is a small funnel because spilling fuel all over the engine/boat/water is not good. Carrying 3 fuel bottles and sta...

Re: ROTOMOLDED SOLOSKIFF
I know I wouldn't like an external tank. Just one more thing on the deck to worry about. Is what you are buying an external tank only? Just my 2 cents but I think I would keep looking if it is external tank only. I keep a 1 gal plastic can of gas in the storage compartment for back up but mine with...

Re: ROTOMOLDED SOLOSKIFF
I have not been able to find a 4-6hp 4stroke under 50lbs. The only outboad that would meet the under 50lbs weight limit is a 3.5hp which is about 41lbs.

Re: ROTOMOLDED SOLOSKIFF
Hey there tw1nny03, I knew if I poked around enough that someone would either be the fourth or know the fourth person. When we all get our skiffs, have to meet up one day and fish. Have you decided on a motor? I guess I have a few more weeks to decide on mine. I just wanted an answer from someone i...
