Re: Buying Advice - Devils Specific Kayak

Your missing probably the best river yak Ive ever used, The Diablo Paddlesports Amigo. Right in your price range, super stable and durable. I river camp out of mine all the time and its extermely capable AND made in Texas. Do yourself a favor and take a look at them before you make your purchase!

Most likely a Bull shark.....And no our little plastic boats dont scare them one bit! I would highly recomend a fish bag. Glad yall are O.K. Pretty unlikely they would attack you but I wouldnt want to be in the water with him anyway..

Re: Need Paddle Recommendation

Absolutely get the lightest paddle you can afford. I use a bent shaft Werner Kalliste and couldnt be happier. I also have shoulder pain and the bent shaft really seems to help with my shoulder and wrists. At around $450 its not cheap but well worth the coin..

Re: Bastrop

Bastrop is almost always good. That lake has a ton of Bass in it. I wouldnt hesitate to make the drive to fish it. Fish the grass with Blade type baits (spinnerbaits or chatterbait) and T-rigged plastics. A Frog is fun to fish also. Any of those should get you bit. My last trip there I had 25 fish t...

Re: What is your favorite length rod?

Mine range from 6'6" for Top water baits, 7'3" for Tx-Rigs, C-rigs, Jigs and Spinner/Blade baits, 7'8" Hvy for Frogs and 7'11" Crankbait rod......No one specific length is bettr or worse than another. All a matter of technique and personal choice.

Re: Colorado River Dogs Annual Memorial Day Trip

Getting excited about our own little trip. The kayak has been packed and ready since Tuesday for our Sunday put-in...just in time. Two questions for the group: 1. Are they currently releasing water for the rice farmers? 2. How has the fishing been on the Colorado lately? Its been a pretty steady 40...

Heres a vote for "bent shaft"...Used to have alot of wrist issues and pain after paddling(Been an Auto Mechanic for 30 yrs, tough on the hands and wrists). Finally bit the bullet and purchased a bent shaft Kalliste. Best piece of gear I,ve ever purchased! Pain after and during paddling has...

Cant beat the Supernovas.....On my Slayer I have blues in the front and soft whites on the rear. Have green 4" strips in the cockpit. Couldnt be easier to install. Contact Dez at Supernova and he can guide you through the process.
