Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

If this launch is closed I wouldn't rent a house in Galveston where I spent 20k last winter and my guests spent a bunch more money. I would go some where else so I would like to find out asap.

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

That really sucks losing another launch in Gtown. Can we start an online petition and have all the kayakers in the Houston Galveston area sign it. I just signed a contract for a house in Jamaica beach for this winter and am going to call the realtor today and lt them know i'm not happy about it. :ho...

Re: Brazoria County Surf 6-4

Nice work. Nothing like a nice incoming green tide with trout hitting tops. Good on you for fighting the surf, would have been too rough for me. One of the biggest trout I've caught came from the surfside beachfront almost 40 years ago on a green to the beach morning :cat:

Sometimes they are in close sometimes a quarter to half a mile out really depends on where the bait is. High island is usually better that Galveston or surfside ask DandyDon and shoffer about some of the trips we've had

Re: Farewell trip w/ Admiral Don Wilchek

Admiral Don Wilchek, I didn’t realize he got promoted, but I’m not surprised, knows a s**t ton about big trout haunts among other handy fishy information and it’s been a privilege to fish with him. I was a fellow kayakwars teammate, me being one of the weaker members, when we took 1st place back in...

Couldn't log into TKF on my laptop or would have posted during my trip. Thanks to DandyDon for getting this post started. Had a great time and it was nice to be back on the Texas coast my favorite place to be. Got to fish with some old friends like DD, Shoffer, Rich and Grant and new ones Kyle and W...

Re: Happy Holidays

Happy New Year tkf'rs. I'm happy to be back in Texas for the winter and will be posting some reports soon. I just got settled into my place and fished for a few hours the past couple days. Mainly threw tops and caught a few small keepers while missing quite a few half hearted takes. The water is muc...

Re: Big Boy in a Hobie Outback

Shoffer I will be in Gtown Dec 29 till spring and plan to fish every day possible. I've only had 2 or 3 new kayaks I liked to buy them from someone that bought them new and kayaking wasn't their thing. I would use them for a year and sell them. There is a good deal on a hobie pa12 in Rosharon right ...

Re: Big Boy in a Hobie Outback

Everyone has their own opinion. Being a big guy I think Bart will be disappointed with anything else. I've had over 20 kayaks most of them hobie. I can't fish out of any kayak but a PA and I'm not as big as Bart. I've pulled the drive and poled my PA in shallow water. To me nothing comes close its e...

Re: New to tournaments and TKF

We used to run some TKF tournaments on 321fish.com you can check out some past results on their site. I will be down in Gtown soon and hopefully we can get some going again. Its a fun no pressure tourney. They usually run for a month you can fish when and where you want as often as you like. :cat:

[quote="katzig"] I'm beginning to believe that freeze really hurt the Trout here at Rockport, Reds and Flounder survived Good informative report and nice flounder. I'm retiring at the end of the year and was going to move to Rockport but decided on Galveston because of that very reason :cat:

Agreed... a link to a you tube video is not a fishing report. I know I'm old school but I would rather see a few pics and read a bit about their experience especially if they are a storyteller. By the way where have Cuervo and karstopo been? :cat:

Re: Tonight our Grand Finale Night Trip for TKF!

If TKF is a goner it will truly be a sad day. I'm sure there would be a lot less kayaks on Texas waters if it wasn't for TKF. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have become a die hard kayak fisherman without it. I've met so many awesome people because of it some that have become life long friends. Thank you...
