Re: New Statewide Trout Regs - March 26th
I haven't kept a spec I've landed for over twenty years. I've always thought a fresh lower slot spec was like a meal in the fanciest restaurant... possession limits are rarely a problem for me  Its interesting to hear y'all talk about the size of the trout. I still lean toward releasing big t...

Re: Snook at Matagorda
I caught one in a cast net at Matty. I was trying to catch some mullet at the start of the new jetty. I threw the net into a school of finger sized mullet and there was about a 12" snook that came up with them!

Re: Mud Boil Redfish
Gotta love mud boil fishing.
I remember a trip to Matagorda where a couple of locals put on a master class in mud boil flounder catching. They'd spot a mud boil and more often than not pull a flounder out. no one else could buy a bite...

safe boat parking in Port Aransas?
Hi everyone!
My sister has rented a home in Port Aransas for the weekend. She invited us to come down and of course we said Yes! trouble is... This place doesn't allow boat parking. Does anyone know of a place near Port Aransas that offers secure boat parking overnight? Please and Thank You!

Re: East Matagorda Bay Paddlesports Park/Rudacell's Cut and Allen's Landing Kayak Launching
There are a number of good sloughs you can hit East Matty from. They are all shallow, but rarely impassable. That area has so many good spots to launch a kayak. If its too low to hit East Bay, go across the road and you can access West Matty from the cut near the entrance to the LCRA park. There is ...

Re: Give me your flounder secrets
Once upon a time I was fishing on the piers at the LCRA park in Matagorda. It was a quiet, perfect night. Not too many people, and not too many fish. mainly sandy's for me... A couple of guys showed up and started chit chatting. They mentioned they were locals, just out to catch some flounder. No on...

THere are good deals to be had if your quick and have cash ready to go. Sounds like you got one. I thought for sure kayak rash was going to be a video of some poor guy falling in oyster... There is a lot of good info on that page!

Re: Oyster Lake, Palacios Aug 7
Follow that bayou that leads out of the lake into west Matty. It seems to stack up trout out there when the tide dumps oyster lake back into the bay.

Re: Oyster Lake, Palacios Aug 7
I love that area but get so frustrated at running into all the dang oysters. Maybe it gets better farther into the lake, but the area close to the bridge is, uhm... challenging. Nothing like that sound of a nice carbon fiber paddle smacking oysters  I always seem to see dolphins over there. The...
