Re: Olympus 790SW issue/Question
The tough series are the way to go. They are great. I constantly use mine underwater at around 15 ft and no trouble. Just a simple rinse. and they have very good features. plus, 11.1 megapixels isn't too shabby. especially if it's waterproof!

Re: Olympus 790SW issue/Question
It's most likely leaking somewhere. There really isn't any recommeneded DIY fix. These things are built in vacumms and need to be fixed in the approriate environment. Contact Olympus and see what they say. I think they have a 3 year warranty on them.

Re: Humminbird thru hull transducer kit
I always wonder why Humminbird makes the "Kayak Fishfinder Package" and they still give you 30 freaking feet of transducer cable. Last time I checked, the longest kayak that someone might use to fish out of is 16 feet... Save your money for the installation kit or just get a piece of foam ...

Re: transducer mount
You need to do the Transducer exchange program with HB. The transducer you really need is the XTH 9 20 P. http://store.humminbird.com/products/313998/XTH_9_20_P" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The exchange is free. All you need to do is contact them to setup the transaction ...

Anyone know of a place to buy bulk well nuts that don't cost $1.5+ a piece? Everywhere I look they are sold in small packs for rediculous prices.

Plastic Welding Job Well Done?
I've been studying for a while now on how to plastic weld a kayak back together and I tried using the soldering iron method and this is the result I came up with. Is the discoloring normal? I think it's because the iron is too hot and is actually burning the plastic. Does anyone know the optimal tem...

Re: easy rack system for suburban
Get the Thule Roll Model or the the Glide and Set. Both adapt really well to ackwardly shaped hulls. I wish I got that for my Trident 11 since the Mako Saddles only fit snugle on kayaks with rounded sides. Or you can jut go the super cheap way and throw a pool noodle on the crossbar and carry your k...

It would've been even better if he got the hook stuck in his hand after almost getting his hand bitten off. Serves him right.

Go to your local academy in the basketball section, look for a Fox 40 Classic whistle. That is what officials use in games across the nations, and that's what I use. ITS LOUD!! and if you want louder, look into the Acme Tornado 2000 whistle.

Re: Lake Grapevine creek
Trophy club is the safest but you can also put in right by Denton hwy. You just have to be willing to walk about a quarter mile down to the river and be able to launch from a 2-3ft drop off.

Re: Summertime Bass
Idk how many of you guys use FFs(Grapevine lake has a clarity of murky or extra murky) but what do grassbeds appear on the screen? Is it pretty obvious to see? Also, is it common for bass(in shallow areas) to brake the surface? I found a spot with A LOT of brush and keep hearing splashing around me....

Summertime Bass
I know during the scortching summer months of Texas bass like to go deeper where the water is cooler and more oxyginated but how deep is that, on average? Around 20ft or so?
