Re: Sup vs kayak
I have an armada of SUP's and my favorites are my BOTE's Board. However, I use mine for just paddling out in the gulf but also use them for fishing. They are great for quick trips and are easier to store and handle than a kayak. I would warn you that if plan on using the BOTE for long all day fishin...

Re: Conroe Walden area
The little bridge on Walden road has a great access point in an abandoned neighborhood that you can literally pull right up to the water and put in at the bulkhead. However, make sure you have a rope tied to your kayak to pull it back up out of the water because the bulk head is about 4' tall and ca...

Paddle Boards vs Kayaks
Saw a board for sale on another thread and it made me think about the benefits of paddle boards vs. kayaks. I have both and since I got my Bote board about three years ago I hardly use my kayak. I love the weight of the board and how easy it is to load up and carry, I also like the fact that even th...

Re: Largemouth bass at Lake Conroe
The little west 1097 bridge has some good access points and some good fishing especially when the lilly pads are out. Also, google earth the national forest and pretty much every logging road that dead ends at the lake has some sort of access point. Usually, just trails through the woods but great s...

Re: Grass Carp?
Go to lake Conroe on 105 and hang a right on Walden road. You will come to a little bridge. You used to be able to park in the unfinished neighborhood on your right and put in. It was a great spot for unloading and loading but thanks to all of the trash leaving beer cans along the canal they shut th...

Pacific Warriors, have you been watching?
Has anyone else been watching this show about kayak fisherman in Hawaii? Its a pretty cool show about these kayak fisherman who fish for all sorts of different fish off the coast of Hawaii. Its amazing how territorial they are regarding their fishing spots. I actually feel bad for one little guy who...

Yea I couldn't believe the lack of fight they have. The local called them the Leon Spinks of fish. Look big and bad but go down on the first upper cut.

Re: White River calling
We hit the white river in May. We fished the river one day for rainbows and browns and fished Bull Shoals Lake one day for Walleyes. The river fishing was the easiest rainbow trout fishing I have ever done. It was like fishing for perch in a farm pond. We site fished for some massive browns but they...

I honestly think my lungs would go into detox breathing that clean air. I don't know if they know how to operate outside of Houston smog and humidity. Great pictures and would love to hit those water ways on a paddle board.

Modifying McClain trailers for kayaks
I have a typical 12' to 14' McClain aluminum boat trailer that you get from Academy that I want to modify to hold kayaks. I noticed on the Trailer thread some folks have used, what I assume are unistrut products to do this. Does anyone know where I can purchase the lateral bars that the kayaks rest ...

Thanks, for all the info. Can you cover the same amount of territory as you can in a kayak? It sounds like my uncoordinated self will be able to use one of these.

Paddle Board Fishing
Guys- Have any of you ever tried paddle board fishing. I notice Jackson has a new one out and Bote has a fine looking board but I was wandering how easy/comfortable it is to fish from one of these. I have seen some that come with a mini "tower" to put rods and stuff like but how stable are...

Re: Grass Carp on Lake Conroe!
I caught one on accident up on the north end and it was a blast. However, I never got close to landing him. Every time he got within ten feet of me he went on a huge run. I was using a number 8 rod and he bent that thing to the max.

Re: Changes to Trout bag limit on the Guadalupe
I find it hilarious that we have all these regulations on a species that are 1000 miles from its native habitat. It's just dumb. Promote fly fishing for bass or perch. The hill country rivers are amazing, promote the native fish and screw this trout crap.
