Nah, I stop fishing from May thru Sept, and start again around October thru April. My first time out was last week trying to get used to the Outback. I sold the PA and bought a used Hobie Outback wanting something lighter, I will go back to the PA soon, need more storage and room.

x2 Neumie, I use to fish for these species every summer with a Guide out Lavaca Bay. So much fun, and the best tasting fish on earth!

Tobin said it best! Pre frontal bite is the best and most aggressive and it's usually due to a dropping barometer and some other factors combined.

Cows weigh a lot compared to an Axis deer. Obviously, a cow will consume more grass. If there is over population of Axis deer in that region I guess it's possible to have grass shortages.

At least you didn't get skunked! I was planning to hit the bay but the conditions sucked, been there and done that way too many times!

Curious, I assume you guys looked at the weather forecast before leaving? Was it a freak storm that popped up?
