Re: I challenge Kayakers to turn in catch and release records.
It was 92" and I just never got around to sending the paperwork in. I saw an AG last summer that I believe will be the new world record. That is all I plan on concentrating on this summer. Like Ron, I just dont want the publicity. I have enough people ask me where I fish now. I have been burned...

That take out almost killed us. It's tough.Strider wrote:I can only attest to the stretch between 7 and 413 being doable with a tolerable amount of lining/dragging. I have not been below 413 more than a couple of miles. 979 takeout is a real challenge under any conditions though.

I am very put off by links to blogs of any type..............whether commercial or individual. And I don't buy this excuse that "I don't want to retype everything"...............ever heard of copy and paste???? I belong to several fishing forums and on occasion I post the same trip report...

Great report Kim. We are back to the Yo-Yoing water levels again. I think it really screws the fishing up when we are in this Summer patter of fluctuating levels.

New Water = Big Fish
As some of you know Ron and I enjoy chasing what we call Trophy Alligator Gar (100+ pounds).Ron and I hit a different part of the Brazos via private access yesterday. We got on the river about 5:00 and proceeded downstream a couple of miles until we found a good looking spot. After unloading some ge...

Me too, Ron. He does a lot of rambling in his writing. Kinda hard to figure out if he is talking past, present, or future a lot of the time.

Re: Gar-Gantuan
I have released all of the big gator gar I have caught. I will say that if/when I catch a 300 pound class gar I will not release her. I think fish like that are past their prime as far as spawning goes. I really think the 100-175 pound fish are the major spawners and I have released numerous fish in...

May have a actual fishing report by Sunday.
My partner in crime, Ron, and I are going to check some new water tomorrow. I'm hoping it works out for us. I am going to try and talk him into chasing some Gator Gar on Sunday.

Re: Variety on the Brazos
I was glad to get to the River Friday as I had a very stressful week. I really did not care wether I caught any fish or not. This was just a get away trip. The River is as low as I have ever seen it (as a matter of fact I peeled a piece of fiberglass off of the bottom of my boat going down Friday. I...

I still can't get over how much Seashell has grown since the last time I had seen her. Ron and I had made a two night trip on the River (report to come later). Kim had seen our vehicles at the put in Friday when he went fishing and had driven all the way back out to the Falls to help us load the equ...
