Re: folks, a heads up on being seen (and to not being run over)

Kurt, the 28 express (with the tower) full of girls in the back hollering for you was us. We passed each other right in front of the board walk. That's why I mentioned putting in under the bridge, where the no wake zone is. Everyone pretty much goes slow through there. Sounds like the new guy just d...

folks, a heads up on being seen (and to not being run over)

Yesterday, there was a guy in a Hobie going right down the middle of the only deep water channel in Clear Lake. I never saw the guy, took off on a plane, then saw him and backed down. There's absolutely no reason for a kayak to be in the channel on Clear Lake to begin with. It's the only place sail ...

Re: How to fish in Clear Lake Tx

The lake is still pretty much fresh water, but the pilings along the channel are holding some sheepshead right now. That's also a safe place for yaks, because it's a no wake zone.

Just what we all need, another hidden tax on us. NOT. If you take the time to add up the list of taxes it already takes to put any boat in the water for a day of having fun, you would be amazed. Let's see, a drivers license, required insurance to hold one, an inspection sticker on your truck, tax on...

By creating the requirement that all fish landed by a recreational fisherman be done so under a state fishing license, Texas side stepped this. Even if you catch your fish in federal waters, you still need a Texas fishing license to land them here.

A large part of the problem is the sewer plants on the bayou. My Dad lives on it and regularly sees "blind mullets'' floating by. It's really bad after a good rain.

Man that is scary , pretty sad actually . if you want to see scary, you should read the water quality report for the bayou. This is part of it. High concentrations of bacteria measured in Dickinson Bayou Tidal, Segment 1103, and four of its tributaries may pose a risk for people who swim or wade in...

Kenny, another option might be to flag down a powerboat and ask for help. Some of us are yakkers and have powerboats too. I certainly don't mind throwing a yak in the boat or throwing a rope out and idling home. 3 shorts, 3 longs and 3 shorts with your light directed at one will usually get you some...

We just had something similar happen in the a/c business. All of our field employees are going to be taxed at between $50 to $100 each per year. The only reason it was passed was revenue. That's on top of the $300 a year I pay to keep my State License. Anyone remember those A through D stickers the ...

the beach was in the worst shape I have ever seen, but the company was good. There was no way I was going in the surf, either wading or yakking. I tore up a nice paddle a couple years back doing that and didn't want to make the same mistake again. Here's a few pics of camp. I took off early Saturday...

I think they do need to address the flounder situation next. you best careful what you wish for, unless a two flounder limit is what you want. I have been real happy with the one Ken Martin built me. Floats in a couple of inches, gets up in less than a foot and is easy on gas. Boat, trailer, 50 HP Yammy, seat and windshield (seat and windshield were added after this pic) all for 11K. Tops out at 30 and will run 100 miles on 12 gallons of g...
