Re: Big guy wants to kayak
As others have said, watch the classifieds on here constantly. Guys are always selling to upgrade, or wanting other yaks, so you can get some nice deals. And a lot of them already have a lot of your necessary accessories included. Good luck!

To give you a short answer that I learned years ago in fishing for Bass, Stripers, Reds and Specks, and have kind of always stuck with,,,,,,,, A Rod and Reel set up is only as good as your Drag.... So I've always applied my money to the Reel. I like the Ambassadeurs, and Shimano rees.

Have you tried the Florida Sportsman Forum? It's not specifically for Kayakers, but you can probably find some info for the Tampa area.

Sharp looking yak. How does that seat feel? Looks like it's pretty comfortable. Any stability issues with it setting up high? Never been in a Jackson Cuda so just wondering.

Re: HELP! Tieing knots on a fly!
Thanks for all the tips guys! I was indoors with bright lights and reading glasses on when I was tieing the fly. The line kept curling, I couldn't see the end, and, well you get the picture. Anyway, I was thinking the whole time that there is no way I could do this on the water, by the time I got it...

HELP! Tieing knots on a fly!
I've been tieing various knots on hooks and lures for years for Bass, perch, specs, reds, etc...., but this trying to tie a knot with a 5x tippet to a size 10 fly makes me want to quit before I get started. And yes, I had my glasses on.
Can someone provide some pointers??????
