How many people have padeled up the Colorado versus paddling down?
What launches, how far & where. Looking to see the usage of Kayaks in my area. Smithville>< La Grange. Good spots to fish. Good camping spots would also be great.

Schooling Catfish On The Colorado
A few weekends ago I ventured up river a few miles. Came across a black cloud 100ft. x 50ft. As I paddled over I could see fish scatter. I really had no idea what it was. Casted out some bait and caught a 12.5 catfish. O.K.... Casted out again and 10" catfish. How many people have seen this? I ...

My question is how do you return a flounder gigged thats to small you thought was legal? Fishing rod and reel for a limit of 10 flounder is a tough task. Catching them from my kayak without lights and darkness seem more of a sport. If i gig my luck would have it everyone is under sized and I would b...

Yes Fayette Lake has never gave me a bad day. Went out Friday 31st 6:00A.M. Launched at Park P. Went around and seen the shad running. Started throwing top water poppers and hooked up. Two right after another. Paddled on the grass and grabbed a few lost lures from someones last fishing trip. Paddled...

Oak Thicket is nice. This park is where the cabins are. I have not launched there. If you do, turn left (east) and paddle up. There is a really nice cove. If you want nice catfish paddle over to the next cove and sit in the trees in 17' of water. The first park is where I launch all the time. Nice c...

Well removing the hook would be a good idea just kept my kids from loosing thier bait so much. If an umbrella net is legal, where is the escape hatch for it? I bought it online. As i said before a game warden seen it and said nothing. But the next could. So I think I wll check into it further. When ...

Casting Crab Trap for Bait
Bought this for the kids but confiscated it because they caught 30+ crabs in an hour. :) What I did was cast it out on a bait pole and it stays open. When you see your line start moving give it a quick jerk and the trap closes shut. Reel it in and the crab is caught. When used by kids they just sat ...

Small caps......Bobber does work. Slip float rig. Casting in a bed. I use a slip float for all types of fishing. Some saw me do it at Matty and thought I was looney until they saw me pull in bait fish after bait fish. With a slip float I can reach the suspension of any fish. When I was young fishing...

TAKING THE INTESTINES OUT OF GRASS CARP AND TILAPIA IS THE RULE IN TPWD THATS MOST OVERLOOKED. REASONS FOR REMOVING GRASS CARP WHEN CAUGHT HAVE NEVER BEEN CLEAR UNLESS......THEY ALSO EAT FISH EGGS AND DEPLETE THE POPULATION. LAW DOES STATE TO REMOVE INTESTINES FROM BOTH OF THESE FISH. THESE FISH ARE...
