That looks like loads of fun, but I can't handle casting a fly rod sitting down. I much prefer to stand in the boat to target fish. Might just be my trout fishing roots. I took a clunky old canoe down to the coast last winter and caught my first Redfish on a fly that way.

I and some buddies have been known to really fight fish with the rod tip low for this very reason. Also been known to kinda just let the dinks shake themselves off if there's too many folks around.

I can't really help with vintage glass, but I really enjoy a 5wt Epic for dry fly fishing, and it is still light enough to chase 4" panfish.

New to the forum, didn't see anywhere to introduce myself, so I'll just start chiming in where I feel like it I guess. I'm a MT transplant to TX so I have no frame of reference for how bad these fish kills are. In a worst case scenario, is this going to have a 2 year impact? 5 year? 20? I just caugh...
