Re: How Come Some People Don't Like Reds?
Old thread resurrected but I’ve kept a croaker from my last two outings and croaker are delicious. I gutted and gilled this last one and then scaled and scored the flesh, rubbed in a little mustard and put on seasoned cornmeal and flour then deep fried whole in peanut oil. There’s something extra g...

If all you had was ribbon fish leaders for this trip, you would be perfectly fine. Most of the time you will be trolling. I would say 10 king leaders should hold you for this trip. 10? Is that a typo? I made 2 and thought I would be good. Are they disposable? One fish per leader and you throw them ...

And here is a question for you - what is the day job of Prof. Salt? I'm an Associate Professor of Surgical Technology and the Allied Health Department Chair at Del Mar College. I got the nickname as a mix of my day job and my love of paddling in the salt. For the record, I'm not AI or even half rob...

Very few access points down here. KOA( long paddle to jetties) or The Pearl(beachside) are the only spots i know of unless you have a beachside owner friend. I pay for a private ramp to fish Laguna. Well worth it. And yes, we have beautiful water down here 95% of the time. Nice report. The jetties c...

Re: Storing lots of anchor rope
I actually quit using a cord wrap. I have 2 different lengths of 25 ft of 880 paracord with carabiners on the ends. When I need extra rope I just clip on the 2nd one. Most times I get by with one. I just coil the rope, wrap it around itself and a couple half hitches and store under my seat. When I'...

Yeah just saw the news. Local beach Dictators are keeping it shut down for two more weeks. They’ll probably do it all over again in two more weeks... We need to remember this when election and voting comes up. These folks need to be removed from office. This is rediculous with no science backing an...

Re: SPI South Bay
Planning a trip to SPI South Bay. Does anyone know the closest point to park my truck. I can yak the rest of the way. Take 4 towards Boca Chica. A long detour sure, but beats the even longer paddle. The best areas are the southwest end of bay. IMO. It is a long paddle from Isla Blanca ramp. Not to ...

Agree. It is a LONG way to the cut from Port A. Better have rescue gear, ditch bag, rations, fuel etc. And a PLB is a must in my opinion .
